Hey there!

Hi lovelies, I'm Gemma, aka Wardette. I'm a tattoo-ed, music obsessed wedding photographer. I drink too much tea, love dogs and spent the last decade of Winters in the French Alps. In past lives I've been an exhibiting artist, writer, and Visual Culture academic. I was pretty much born with a camera in my hands, and worked with my Dad (Magazine Photographer) for years before going solo. I work hard, I love hard and I laugh hard. Oh and I love gifs. Expect gifs.

The Wardette Studio, that’s me, Gemma, is all about showing you how friggin gorgeous and cool you are- Wedding photography that screams of you, and makes your stomach flip with how incredible you are together. You deserve to see it.

It’s all about attitude and style for me, which isn’t necessarily about leather jackets and pulling faces (both which I love). It’s how you feel; it’s about you being you.

Let’s giggle while you get ready. Let’s scale fences, throw confetti and chase sunsets. Let’s throw our heads back and dance hard at your party… Can you see your wedding photos already? Because I can… And that’s what it’s about.

What makes us unique

I mix my down-to-earth documentary shooting style, and a love of all things arty and romantic, with a healthy dose of rock ‘n’ roll rebellion. I’m a super smiley, tattoo-ed chick with an un-ending energy and enthusiasm- in both the lead up, and on the day.

To me, every shot is an opportunity to go back in time, be there again, feel it again… and show you how fricking beautiful and awesome you are.

I assisted my father photographer for years, shooting for the magazines. We shot editorial, fashion, portraiture and of course, high end celebrity weddings. That’s what got me into the game, and that background and experience has never left me. I might have the energy of an excited youngster, but I’ve definitely got the chops. And that goes such a long way guys…
