Pauntley Court is a warm and welcoming family-owned country house, full of history and character, which we love to share with couples and their guests for a wedding weekend or special event.

We like to make you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. You can stay with your guests over three days and enjoy the 10 individually decorated bedrooms, with time to soak up the relaxing atmosphere and enjoy chatting, dining and partying with your special family and friends. All bedrooms have fresh flowers from the garden and white company linens and fluffy towels and dressing gowns.

What makes us unique

Pauntley Court is a country house with so much warmth and atmosphere, with its reddish-pink colour on the outside, almost Italian in feel and its quirky, individual décor inside, it really is a one of a kind house.

You see the reddish glow of Pauntley as you crest the brow of the hill, with only the 16th Century Dovecote and Norman Church as its neighbours. Birthplace of Dick Whittington (1353) and described by John Masefield as ‘a place of great beauty…’ , it has had many colourful characters that have been associated with it over the years.

Set in the most beautiful gardens, which form magical rooms and creative spaces that are there for you and your guests for drinks, canapés and lots of wonderful photographs. With distant views across the Gloucestershire countryside from every room, a lake and a wild woodland area, there are so many spaces to make your wedding weekend a one-off and memorable event!

You can decide to be married in our elegant ballroom for up to 55 people or in the Norman Church just a short stroll away or find a glorious space in the gardens amongst the quince trees or the Hornbeam arches or even down by the lake for a blessing.

We offer you the exclusive use of the beautiful house and gardens over a whole weekend so that you can make it your very own for three days. You can have a small intimate wedding or a larger affair with a marquee on our flat terrace overlooking the rolling countryside. The choice is always yours, we are as flexible and accommodating as we can be to help you make your very own bespoke and one-off wedding weekend. When we personally take you around the house and gardens we can show you all the different options and ideas.
