The Bug Bar

The Bugbar is totally unique, chic and bespoke. It is a customised VW camper with a difference. It has versatile functionality as it can operate as a ‘pop up’ wedding bar, or DJ booth. Whether you want to add a touch of vintage to your festival themed wedding, have a silent disco to keep those neighbours happy, or simply have your dream drinks served by excellent bar staff, the Bugbar is the perfect addition for your special day.

From fine ales through to classy cocktails, the Bugbar will create that unique experience. The idea was conceived through a long love affair of cool campervans, festivals, great music, quality food and first class drinks. The man behind the BugBar is Justin Rushmore says:

“I first came across the idea of converting a VW into a bar when I was in Bangkok…I loved the idea and finally in 2013 we launched the concept in the UK. We took the Bugbar to a host of festivals. It was used as a wedding bar at Latitude, a vitality café at Secret Garden Party and Wilderness, as well as a DJ booth for Bestival.

People loved the idea, It’s something about the nostalgia of a campervan which resonates with so many people…I got married in June on a beautiful farm in Sussex, naturally we used the Bugbar and from there on it’s been non stop, we have been overwhelmed by the interest to feature the Bugbar at weddings and events.

In fact the business is going so well we have decided to expand the operation by introducing a second Bug; The Discobug…. as for the DJ booth, the Discobug also comes fully kitted out with an LED light show, mirror balls, festi décor and to keep those neighbours happy we have 100 silent disco headsets which are loads of fun. I started my DJ career as a wedding DJ in the 80’s and its now gone full circle!”
