Sarah + Lee’s glorious Pennard House Wedding…
It’s an absolute pleasure to feature Sarah and Lee’s colourful, flower filled wedding which took place at Mr & Mrs Unique favourite Pennard House.
Pennard House is a true gem situated in the rolling hill of Somerset. With stunning interiors, walled gardens, wildflower meadows, woodlands and even a cider orchard, it really is the ideal location for couples to create their dream bohemian wedding.
With an abundance of Summer flowers, a gorgeous sequin Jenny Packham dress, cocktails on the terrace and a truly romantic outdoor ceremony, you can easily see why Sarah and Lee’s loved the venue and why it’s one of Pennard’s favourite weddings. Over to the team to tell us more…
Pennard House…
What did you love about the couple and their ideas for their wedding day?
Sarah and Lee were just the most wonderful couple. From their first visit through the planning and the day itself – they were happy and gentle and really enjoyed it all. Their wedding was just like them full of love, laughter, colour and family.
If you could describe their day in three words what would it be?
Love, laughter and colour!
What did the couple love about your venue? How did they use the venue and the spaces available?
Sarah being a horticulturist meant that there were flowers everywhere – which was amazing! And totally fit with Pennard as we’ve got a secret garden full of topiary and hydrangeas and terraces full of roses so we had a serious floral connection!
What was your favourite moment of the day, and why?
The walk down the aisle. Its always amazing seeing the build up to this moment – Sarah getting ready in the morning surrounded by her nearest and dearest – the dad moment! Lee waiting for her to arrive and then her gliding towards him looking like a dream – it was just so romantic!
What was your favourite decor details, and why?
So many can’t decide on a favourite – stunning flower crown, wildflower seeds favours, heavenly Jenny Packham sequin wedding dress, the most delicious looking naked wedding cake covered in flowers, blowing bubbles in a meadow during sunset – need we say more!
What was unique about their wedding day?
Every wedding is unique and is a reflection of that couple. Lee and Sarah’s wedding was a beautiful colourful and thoughtful day surrounded by family. There was joy and gentleness to the day that really reflected Lee and Sarah.
What are your top three pieces of advice to couples when working with a wedding venue?
Enjoy it – it may seem like an obvious bit of advice but it is really easy on the day to not remember to enjoy it. When our couples arrive for their wedding – this is the message we try to give to them. They have put so much hard work and heart into planning this special day that now they need to enjoy it and trust us to look after everything else. Especially as everything happens so quickly so they just need to enjoy every moment and not worry about a thing.
Do what you want – as a venue we try our utmost for our couples to do what they want on their wedding day – we’ve had cricket matches, plays, bucking broncos! – you only do this once and you will think of it and look at pictures for the rest of your life so do what you want!!
Try and be organised – the more organised you are, the more relaxed you can be and the more you can enjoy the planning and the wedding.
