Wild Magical Woodland…
Today we have an enchanted woodland bridal shoot to share with you that is full of gorgeous flora and fauna details. Colours of berry, fuchsia, mossy greens with subtle hints of blush and gold provide a really lush, Autumn/Winter palette.
A huge than you to Mr & Mrs Unique supplier Ela from Bochic Weddings & Events for sharing her project with us.., Make sure you also check out Nevie-Pie’s amazing painted cake! God she is good!!!
Over to Ela to tell us more about the inspiration and the team behind it…
Bochic Weddings & Events…
We had four different areas to our shoot:
– Willow arbour ceremony setting
– Mismatched vintage cake display
– Cute caravan turned bar
– Flora & fauna-filled wedding table
A Shakespearian aura inspired by A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream was the main inspiration behind the shoot. Nature, flora and fauna were also a big inspiration as I wanted to incorporate the nature of the woodland into the styling. I like the mismatched vibe, so not much of my styling for the shoot was symmetrical or matching – I think things look more beautiful when it appears as if they were naturally there or just ‘placed’ there.
The Mid-Summer Night’s Dream inspiration was brought to life in the details. From stags and antlers to little gold-painted donkeys, there was an animalistic element to the styling which was, of course, inspired by the animals in A Mid-Summer Night’s Dream. Mushrooms were carved out of wood and nestled between the tree stumps to add a wild, enchanted vibe. Plenty of lanterns, candles and flowers really added to the naturally romantic, woodland feel.
The flowers totally brought the whole Mid-Summer Night’s Dream inspiration to life, with such a range of different sized flowers and subtle differences in colour, Joules really created something special. For the table scape, she designed the centrepiece so that the flowers looked ‘wild’ and unstructured, with them overflowing out of their container. The moss runner really added to the natural feel of the whole table scape and we placed animalistic elements, like antlers, little donkeys and wooden butterflies, together with loose fruit, in between flowers and candelabra.
From hand painted flowers and trees to deer and sugar craft butterflies, the cake, by Nevie Pie Cakes, was beautifully detailed. I love how the tiers are all different sizes and depths and that they aren’t placed in ascending order – this really compliments the whole mismatched feel of the shoot. I added vintage books, candles, moss and flowers to the cake table which brought a sense of wild romance to the overall look.
I love how the Chocolate Edible Forest dessert by Goose and Berry looks so earthy, with the meringue mushroom and edible flowers to add a pop of colour, it’s as if it’s part of the woodland itself.
The colour palette was a mixture of berry tones and fuchsia hues, which worked really well in the woodland, brightening up the venue and adding colour lots of colour. I asked Joules, of Willow and Thyme, to include a light pink, blush colour within the flowers and plenty of greenery to add more texture. Including little touches of gold here and there created an element of luxe within the table scape, cake design and stationery, for a magical feel.
