Mulled Cider & Wellies…
We have a beauty of a wedding for you today! Sent to us by Mr and Mrs Unique supplier, Freckle Photography, Danie and Callum’s day is an autumnal dream…
The gorgeous jewel tones look incredible against the autumn colours. A stunning hilltop hand-fasting ceremony was followed by a relaxed reception, all at Huntstile Organic Farm in Somerset – love love love!

Why you love this wedding…
Danie & Callum had SUCH a beautiful and relaxed wedding day completely full of emotion and they are two of the kindest and fun people you could ever meet. Plus Danielle has got killer freckles – she’s just a natural beauty and so easy to photograph! Their wedding was completely and utterly ‘them’ and was just so much fun. It was also super colourful (loads of beautiful purple which looked so good against all the autumn colour) and smelled of mulled cider wherever you went! Plus everyone got to ride on a tractor trailer covered in ribbons! What more could you ask for?
What were the couple’s requirements…
They let me just do my thing – YAY!
Favourite details of the day…
Danie’s flower crown. Need I say more??
Favourite moment of the day…
Can I have three? There were too many good’uns! Danie walking through the woods and into the stone circle with her brother looking just beyond amazing and Callum loosing it, completely breaking down in tears and emotion. It was such a breath taking couple of minutes! Then later on in the legal ceremony Danie confirmed her name as her married name – before she was legally married. It had everyone in stitches! A few short minutes later she had us all in stiches again when she made Callum hold the pen with her for the signing of the register – like they could both sign with one pen!! Oh and can I say the cake cutting screaming tradition. That was ace too!! I laughed and cried all day long! As did we all!
Danie & Callum…
Tell us how you met and got engaged…
We met through a mutual friend on a night out. Callum spent the evening showing off his dance moves with a friend and I though he was interested in her! After sharing four and half years of adventures together, Callum proposed on a secluded mountain in the Lake District.
What were your main hopes for the day…
Good weather! The ceremony was on a hilltop, a tractors ride from the reception venue. Rain would have really diminished the day and dampened the bonfire and marshmallow cooking opportunities in the evening.
Was your favourite part of the day…
We loved the hilltop ceremony especially. As this part of the days wasn’t legally binding we decided not to have a celebrant to lead the ceremony and instead designed different parts of the ceremony to be led by different family members. We wrote our own vows, exchanged rings and invited all the guests to come up and add a ribbon to our handfasting cord. Having the ceremony outside, even on a chilly autumn day, was really important to us. The ceilidh in the evening was brilliant as it got everyone up and mingling, even grandparents hit the dance floor.
What was your budget…
As little as possible but we splashed out on the things we felt were important, like our amazing photographer, Emma, and B&B at the venue for close friends and family. Overall it came to around £12,000
What was your biggest expense…
The venue. It included all staffing, food, drinks package and B&B for 27 guests the night of the wedding.
How did you save money…
We wanted an autumn wedding in the middle of the October half term (a Thursday), which turned out to save us a lot of money! We handcrafted most of our decorations. Tin cans spray painted for vases and candle holders, plants on tables rather than flowers and our incredible wedding cake was made by an insanely talented friend.
What was it like working with your photographer…
Emma made us feel really at ease and was fantastic at organising group shots in a relaxed but direct manner. She took so many photos that we didn’t even notice her snapping so it was an amazing surprise to receive the album. Her photos have such a warm, rich tone that we loved when we first looked at her website and we are so pleased she was part of our big day.
I just LOVE an autumn wedding <3 Thanks for sharing, Emma!

Hi
I only saw the legal part of this amazing looking day ( I had the great honour to marry them) and the love in the room was very special. I wish the most enjoyable lives together.
Lovely wedding and some amazing photos. Congratulations to Danie Callum and all the best to them in the future. Everyone looked great and looked like they had an amazing time. The venue was perfect for an intimate gathering with your nearest and dearest.
