Colourful Bridal Beauty + Style Influenced by Cuba…
Happy Friday all!
Today we have for you a vibrant Cuban inspired bridal shoot; one that embraces a tropical colour palette inspired by the culture, people and streets of Havana.
Short flirty bridal dresses are mixed with vibrant evening outfits; perfect for brides with a free-spirited heart and one who dares to wear colour on their big day.
Professional bridal make up artist Teresa Snowball also shares with us four key make up looks; a minimalist look, cuban beauty, hot pink Havana night, and tangerine dream.
Jo Kemp Photography…
Cuba immediately conjures up images of uber cool cars in vibrant colours, fat cigars being smoked on street corners and sexy women drinking strong black coffee on the balcony’s of slightly decaying elegant buildings.
When Make up artist Teresa contacted me about a collaboration shoot together she was fresh back from a dream trip to Cuba and fancied doing something a little different. Inspired by the light, drama and unique Cuban style she had seen on her travels. Say the words colour, different and unique all in the same sentence and I get very excited, excited enough to rustle up a shoot in a few days, love a bit of spontaneity and creativity.
We were lucky to have the perfect model for the look, sassy and curvy, with gorgeous flawless skin and super shiny black locks. We knew we wanted a dramatic, confident, energetic look with a with a hint of rebellious young runaway bride. I loved the idea of giving brides some bold colour inspiration not just with the bridal bouquet and Teresa’s make up ideas, but combining that with alternative bridal evening dresses.
As a wedding photographer I often see my brides reaching for a short white evening dress for the party which always looks great and doesn’t have to blow the budget. We played with minimalist chic, super confident and elegant looks for the white dresses. Getting super sassy, gregarious and expressive, jazzing it up a bit with a hot pink Havana nights look for the bride that really wants to have fun and a fab tangerine dream carnival vibe, we loved these lace mini dresses with big dramatic bell sleeves. All dresses were under 150euros and delivered on the 24hr ASOS service.
Marie from Paradiso Barcelona helped to complete the edgy sexy feel with an eclectic mix of exotic and tropical flowers including fab yellow Roses, clusters of Dahlias, Gerber, Carnations, sprigs of fern, dill and tropical greens for our bouquets, hair flowers and anklets.
