Neon, glitter and colour for a festival wedding…
Ok, we don’t use those words lightly, but The Giraffe Shed really needs to be on your radar, and then on your ‘to book’ list, pronto. It’s a dream festival wedding location with rainbow walls, gritty industrial decor and NEON (the perk of the venue being owned by a phtoographer is incredible light)! Team this with photography and creative direction from Jade Maguire and Rachael from The Burtons, and some breathtaking couple styles (bridal fedoras are BACK!), and you get absolute festival wedding magic. Take it away, ladies…
“Every once in a while you live your dream, a real dream, a dream that makes your heart sing, the butterflies in your stomach dance and you leave feeling like you’re floating on air… well this is exactly how I felt! On seeing the pink wall that Hannah had created, the first style that sprang to our mind was colour, and what better way to use colour than a dramatic festival theme?”
“We found an absolute dream team amongst suppliers we already knew or followed on instagram. Armed with a pinterest board bringing together fringing, lace, statement flowers with bold pops of colour, ribbons, pom poms, bright confetti, glitter, body art, dreamy lighting bringing a warmth to the edginess, fedora hats, skinny pants, and leather jackets, we searched tirelessly for the perfect people to bring our vision to life. And we nailed it!”
Cow and Cake created an incredible watercolour-style cake in adorned with meringue kisses and foliage, with Knock Knock Penny Studio making stunning stationery to match, utilising a handwritten font that wasn’t too perfect, but not too messy either. The colour scheme was bold and bright, totally perfect for a festival-style wedding, and was used by Bespoke Events and Styling in the tables too, with ribbons hanging off the back of the chair and a gorgeous backdrop.
“Our real-life couple were fashion bloggers with a bloody awesome edge, so they totally brought the heat to a torrentially wet Sunday morning. We had the most stunning bridal separates from Shikoba Bride which stand alone as a gown were truly exquisite, but teamed with a bespoke hand-painted festival-themed leather jacket by Ophelia Rose was out of this world. Later on, Luna Glitter Bar got us party-ready with phenomenal patterns. Always get your glitter to match your neon lighting…”
“Now all I am longing for is to get an opportunity to shoot at a real wedding at The Giraffe Shed – as I am sure many of the suppliers involved are! Truthfully, I don’t think there is one stand out item that was my favourite because I literally loved every single thing that everybody worked so hard to provide.”
“My advice to any couples reading this who may want to plan this sort of day is don’t try and copy what you see on Pinterest, take the ideas and then shower it with your personality. Take the time to find suppliers, use blogs, Instagram, Pinterest, facebook, and word of mouth. Don’t be afraid of planning a wedding that’s really true to your hearts.”
