Colourful Wedding Inspiration…
Happy Monday Folks!
What a vibrant way to start the week by sharing this colour pop wedding inspiration.
Using the graffiti art of the Eastern Market in Detroit as their backdrop; this bridal shoot includes a donut topped cake, a thrift shop bridal dress and pastel tones in the flowers, accessories and the wedding stationery.

Feeling inspired by recording artist Melanie Martinez and an art mural on a semi-busy street, I wanted to do something super colorful, fun, and with a hint of child-like nostalgia (who doesn’t remember trying their best to blow the biggest bubble?). Eastern Market was the perfect location for this as it houses street art from various talents around the country. Due to the area we were able to play with loads of colors and textures which made for something fun and something to remember.
Would you believe that I found these amazing vendors via a Facebook group and Instagram?!
Olivia from Copper + Sage Collective created a beautiful bouquet beyond what I could’ve imaged. Using silk flowers and feathers she created pure art with various shades of pinks, red, and a hint of blue here and there. One of my favorite things about her bouquet is you can easily keep it as a keepsake, turn them into a family heirloom, or repurpose them.
Ashley from The Dulce Experience omg! A beautiful cake white with purple, blue, and pink (along with hints of yellow and green) smears, topped with purple glazed/drip donuts, and a bubble topper.
We wanted to go nice and simple, yet colorful with our sweetheart table (it was set up outside of a building after-all) to match our color tones and the wall we were in front of. Kayla from Pineapple Union Weddings & Events did an amazing job of going colorful and environmentally friendly. Pink napkins, light purple table cloth, light blue runner and candles, and glassware were accompanied by amazing iridescent flatware and amazingly random confetti and buttons!
Another highlight for me would be the dress. It was $20 from a thrift store. For those who would like to emulate it, I would say explore your inner child and have fun with it! You don’t need a dress worth hundreds and thousands, you don’t need a large venue, or to be in nature for your special moment. Pick a spot that relates to you and let your imagination soar.
