A Colourful Chester Wedding…
I have a lovely, colourful wedding to brighten up your Thursday morning!
Naomi and Ian wanted a fun-filled, colour pop wedding full of Mexican inspired details such as a Mariachi band, tuk tuts, bright blooms, buffet and lots of tequila. Held at their local Music venue Alexanders Live, they were able to throw the ultimate party for their family and friends.

Why you love this wedding…
Ian + Naomi’s wedding was so awesome! It had Tuk Tuks, a mariachi band and took place in a music venue! Whats not to love! These guys know how to throw a wedding. So much fun!
Favourite moment of the day…
The whole day was awesome, I really enjoyed the bridal prep and heading down to the river to shoot some portraits in the Tuk Tuks where we were met by their awesome dog!
Naomi & Ian…
Tell us how you met and got engaged…
We met in 6th form but then didn’t see each other for 7 years and only got back in touch via Facebook where we arranged our first date. 7 years later Ian took me flying and proposed to me while flying a four seater Piper Arrow over Snowdonia with a beautiful emerald engagement ring.
What were your favourite details?
It’s hard to pin point but we both enjoyed it so much because it was so laid back, You could see all the guests we relaxed and just enjoying the day which was exactly what we wanted!
Was your favourite part of the day?
Probably the cheering and the laughter during the ceremony.
How was your day unique?
We made it our own and tried to make it as original and laid back as possible which is why we had tuk tuks for the wedding transport, a mariachi band, no table plan, a huge buffet and lots of tequila!
What made you chose your wedding venue?
We didn’t want the traditional church wedding or a formal sit down meal. We booked Alexanders because it’s a music venue by trade so we thought it would be perfect to throw a big party with a live band in the evening, and it was!
Tell us about your wedding outfits and why you picked them…
I’m not a big fan of the traditional wedding dress so I found a few dress patterns online and mashed them together, bought fabric and buttons from Abakhan Fabrics, and asked Ian’s mum to make my dress as she’s a seamstress, it was perrrrrrfect!
Ian wore a navy suit from next, a navy waistcoat (made by myself and Ian’s mum, along with 12 others for all Ian’s groomsmen!) with a red tie & socks as its Ian’s favorite colour. Again we didn’t want anything traditional or anything hired, just something simple and smart.
What was your budget?
It was around £10,000, but we only ended up spending around £7,000 on the actual wedding
How did you save money?
Making the wedding dress saved us a tonne! Also making most of our decorations saved loads, just cost us a little extra time
What was it like working with your photographer?
Dan was a dream from start to finish! From the initial booking, right through to the wedding day, then getting our photos, everything was perfect! He got some fantastic natural shots at times when you didn’t realise he was there. You knew he was there, but he was like a photo ninja. And his wife Laura joined to take photos later on in the day, they are an awesome team to have around on your big day
Advice to any couples about to get married?
Make it your own! Don’t create your big day around the so called ‘do’s & don’ts’ of a wedding. The main thing is to have fun throughout the whole experience and to marry your best mate.
