Elmore Court….
I think most of us (including our Elmore Court team,) are rejoicing the end of 2020. And although we’ve had a bumpy start to this year with a new national lockdown; this time round we can see light at the end of the tunnel with vaccinations being rolled out over the next few months.
Going back to wedding planning might feel really daunting, whether you’ve been effected first hand and already had to postpone your wedding due to covid (some more than twice!!), or whether you’ve looked on in horror and decided not to start at all just yet, we understand why many of you have put planning on hold until there’s some real certainty to save the stress.
It’s also a bit difficult to remember what ‘back to normal’ even means, so we wanted to remind ourselves how wonderful weddings are, and how full of joy and fun and love no matter what season you choose (or had to postpone till) and no matter the size of your celebration. Love shines through and fills in the gaps. Just look…
Micro weddings

As a big venue with enough space for weddings of 300 and accommodation to sleep 16 guests we’ve previously been of the mind-set that bigger is better and that there aint no party like a big wedding party.
But this year came along and shook it all up and we had a complete change of mind on that when we held the most touching, beautiful and intimate micro wedding ceremonies.
So, if you’re teetering on the edge of making a decision to cut your numbers, or you’re really holding out for the big wedding you always dreamed of; Don’t panic, be sure to look at lots of micro wedding inspiration before you make a decision, and have a think about a small wedding now and a big party later- the best of both worlds!
Here are some jaw dropping moments that made us think twice about tiny weddings this year:
If you are having an issue deciding whether to postpone your wedding, or you’re trying to get over your postponement (again, do talk to your wedding venue about holding something on the day- a micro wedding? And a big party later to save that heartache) here’s reasons for why each season is fabulous and perfect and you have nothing to worry about…
Spring weddings
Beautiful delicate flowers and lush greenery grown in this country and therefore much more sustainable (which you can add to cocktails and food as well as for decoration). BLOSSOM. It’s that perfect point where you can still light fires and candles but also enjoy the outdoors for longer periods (and accessorise with jackets and capes and loveliness to complete your wedding outfit).
Days are still shorter so candlelit ceremonies are still possible.
That Spring energy which means everyone is re-emerging and ready to PARTY, and all the pretty colour palettes of pastels and fresh spring greens… We LOVE spring weddings. Here’s some visual reasons why you should rejoice in your Spring wedding choice…
Summer weddings
It’s all about enjoying the outdoors; outdoor wedding ceremonies, garden games, drinks receptions on the lawn, BBQs, picnics, bands and food set up outside, camp fires.
You don’t need to spend so much on flowers and décor this time of year as nature is doing it for you! Revel in the abundance.
Everyone is in the festival mood and the days are long so you can fit so much in, there’s time for lots more entertainment and fun.
The grounds are lush and there are flowers and fruits of all kinds, get in the feasting spirit and let the banquet commence!
Autumn weddings
Autumn has to be the best time for light; glowing and golden, it makes everything it touches look ethereal. Whether you’re holding a cosy hygge ceremony or a full on party wedding Autumn is the perfect time. Longer nights mean more night time hours to party, and more time to enjoy the candlelight.
Rustic colour palettes and jewel tones are beautiful.
Mother nature is putting on a show and wedding photos at this time of year are stunning.
The cyclamen are blooming!
Winter weddings
Whether you celebrate it or not the magic of Christmas with twinkling lights and candles everywhere makes for the most wonderful time of year to get married.
Everything about it sparkles and twinkles and you literally cannot light too many candles or put up too many fairylights. The more the better!
Light all the fires inside and out. The perfect time of year for a glamorous black tie wedding or a massive New Years eve party wedding that no one will forget.
