We are all up for pre-wedding shoots here at Unique Rebels Union. Not only do they help you get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day, it also gives you a chance to play around with outfit changes and incorporating hobbies and places that are important to you as a couple.
Over to Mady from Mady Noel Photo to tell us more…
Mady…
What was the idea behind the shoot?
We just wanted a fun, retro vibe photoshoot and a cool way to celebrate their upcoming wedding. The bride started with an ice skating idea and it evolved from there!
Where did you get your inspiration from?
The couple! This all kind of seamlessly fell together. The bride takes regular ice skating lessons and she had an amazing idea of throwing in wedding clothes for an ice skating shoot. We got lucky in that the ice skating rink already had a super fun arcade and that our friend had a really cool car.
How did you find the suppliers who made this concept come to life?
Instagram — always!
What details/look are your favourite, and why?
The shoot was originally just supposed to be about the ice skating, but it evolved from there. Our friend Steven lent us his beautiful vintage car and those were my absolute favorite photos of the day.
Do you have any styling tips for readers looking to emulate this shoot?
Little white dresses are so fun right now and so is flash photography. I think both of those instantly add a vintage flair. Also, lots of flowers always.
What is it that makes your shoot unique?
I love when wedding portraits or couples shoots involve an activity rather than just static images. That really makes it all come alive.
What’s the most important tip you have for couples planning their wedding?
My personal wedding motto and advice I share with all of my couples is to do whatever the hell you want. There are no traditions that have to be kept and endless traditions you can start on your own. There are no rules to weddings!
