The Indie Wedding Fair…
It’s coming to that time of year when wedding fairs and open days start popping up around the country. One such show that has always captured a part of my heart and one that Mr & Mrs Unique proudly sponsors is The Indie Wedding Fair.
Ellie from Innercity Weddings and the head honcho at The Indie Wedding Fair say “We are firmly committed to delivering an epic creative event that supports the hard-working backbone of the industry and connects couples to their ideal suppliers in an environment which doesnt suck the fun out of wed min… ” So if you want to meet some incredible suppliers who are top of their game, who are innovative, creative and unique; then these are the shows for you!
They have two dates this Spring; one in Manchester on Sunday 17th March and one in Sheffield on Sunday 28th April.
TICKETS: If you would like to find out more and grab tickets to one or even both of these shows you can do so HERE
To mark the new dates, Ellie worked alongside photographer Agnes Black to create a stunning shoot for the shows promo… and I ADORE it! Gorgeous, stylish bridal inspiration with a modern bohemian twist – of course using Indie Wedding Fair suppliers and using the Manchester location FiveFour Studios.
Over to Ellie to tell us more about the shoot….
Ellie from Innercity Weddings…
Where did you get your inspiration from?
We love the understated simplicity of the space and wanted to create something cool, modern and implicitly stylish to promote the 2019 shows.
How did you find the suppliers who made this concept come to life?
All of the suppliers involved are at The Indie Wedding Fairs 2019. We had all worked together on previous weddings and shoots and all share a similar ethos of the sort of weddings we’d ideally like to be working on. Agnes Black was the creative director for the shoot, and she had a really clear vision of what aesthetic she wanted to create. My main input as the fair founder was selecting the model and suppliers, and of course, arranging the space!
What details are your favourite, and why?
The florals were incredible. I loved absolutely everything that Grace had created. She’s got this insane creative flair and huge talent. As with any shoot, wedding or event, though- it’s the synergy of all the elements that makes it. Everyone involved worked so positively together to create something great.
Do you have any styling tips for readers looking to emulate this shoot?
Always work with the space you have, and create something that is a reflection of you, and that suits you and your personality. Choose suppliers who understand, and are on board with, what you want to create.
The dresses were Rue de Seine, from Jean Jackson Couture, florals Maybe May and make up by Jenn Edwards and Co.
What is it that makes your shoot unique?
The suppliers – they are all amazing!
What’s the most important tip you have for couples planning their wedding?
Start with a frank discussion between the two of you. Talk about budget, definite must haves, and the overall look and feel you want. Then list stuff you’d like but would be prepared to compromise on.
Oh, and if you want to DIY- speak to someone who does events/ weddings for a living for some advice first!
