Edgy, Pink Bridal Inspiration…
What an awesome way to start the week by sharing this badass bridal shoot; an epic London elopement set on the back street of Shoreditch… perfect for couples looking to throw the wedding rule book out the window and do things their way.
This shoot combined everything I love about creative weddings… Pretty pink stationery, quirky wedding decor, tons of glitter and edgy bridal styling. Just check out those lush ‘Done Deal’ matching vintage customised denim jackets LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Over to the creative team behind the shoot Ellie from The Wedding Enthusiast and Charlotte from Redamancy Wedding Planning to tell us more…
Ellie…
Our inspiration was couples bedecked in sequins eloping in sandy Vegas scenes with bright lights, but we wanted to put a softer London twist on it, as we’re both lucky enough to call this incredible (mostly insane) city our home.
Our brief started from a main couple of shots we had in mind, which we shaped the shoot around – the icing-smudged invite was one, and the end scene in the cinema was another must-have.
We wanted to capture a couple who were free-spirited and oozed style, whilst eschewing many of the traditional elements a couple may not feel reflects them anymore. We played on an elopement style setup, complete with matching denim jackets and edgy café setup, before roaming the streets of London.
We’ve got grit and brick, shiny moon balloons, pink glitter, 80s-influenced stationery and confetti absolutely everywhere, whilst still maintaining effortless cool with a huge textured bouquet, pink velvet platforms, a midi-length applique lace dress and slick, soft hair and make up.
Bloaum came up with some incredible floral arrangements with stunning textures, smashing the pink brief without being twee. I loved the mixture of pampas grass with the bigger, bolder blooms. They look SO fly in the arms of our lovely groom, Max – blooms ‘n’ boys are an award-winning combination I think!
Other than that, the streets of Shoreditch created the most perfect backdrops for a young couple who embody this gorgeous city and it’s spirit that never sleeps, with super aesthetic green tiles, cobbles and heart-shaped bike racks. The icing smudged on the stationery was one of the shots we wanted from the very start, and Keady Row provided us with the most gorgeous stationery to make this dream come to life. Her colour palette was full of vibrant contrasts and striking couplings, whilst her fonts and spacing were bold and brilliant. We even had holographic – swoon!
Styling Tips…
Charlotte from Redamancy Wedding Planning: Confetti is an inexpensive but very effective way to decorate a table. Confetti is very wedding-appropriate but this is using it in a new and unseen way. Plus it adds that fun, party-vibe to your day!
Little details like glitter can seem trivial but actually make a huge impact, especially in photos where the light catches it just right! Colourful, sparkly and shimmery crockery will achieve the desired impact over and above that of your venue’s standard plates.
Thanks for sharing this incredible, colourful shoot with us…
