Where did you get your inspiration from?
Myself, Vix of Pix by Vix and Alex from Wilde Posies, wanted to create a wild, disco in the woods styled shoot. A small elopement/micro wedding vibe, with vows on a bridge. The contrast of disco, sequins and in your face blue and orange clash was our dream.
To have intimate vows on a bridge with a celebrant, a small grazing platter meal with views of a lake, a hidden disco in the woods with all the bubbles and hanging disco balls then to also have vows on the jetty and to end with a beautiful scenic row on the lake. It was amazing to be able to create something so beautiful with such a wild and free couple.
What details are your favourite, and why?
I loveeee, the silver boat and the disco balls. I can’t pick. I love the amazing bright cloud that wilde posies created. It was amazing seeing it all come together. With lots of small details like the candles, grazing board and amazing sequin capes from w collective.
Do you have any styling tips for readers looking to emulate this shoot?
Layerssss, honestly the contract of layers on the backdrop in the woods and also ensuring there is loads of texture for depth and GO BIG with colour.
What is it that makes your shoot unique?
I think the use of 2 colours that aren’t normally put together was major, the bright orange and blue teamed with loads of silver and glitter really popped in the wild environment with the woodland, lake and greenery surrounding.
What’s the most important tip you have for couples planning their wedding?
Do whatever you want! Go out and make it you! Don’t stick to what you’ve seen before. If you have a favourite colour that’s not seen to be used together. Be adventurous. Do whatever you want!
