Hygge Wedding Inspiration…
Today’s Hygge wedding inspiration will make you want to wrap up under a warm blanket and get all cozy with your loved ones.
‘Hygge’ is a Danish ritual of enjoying life’s simple pleasures and they have totally embraced the theme by capturing love, comfort, good food, knitted decor, blankets and hot chocolate…Ahhhh.
Over to Danielle from The Wed Hub to tell us more…
Danielle…
The idea for this styled shoot was based around the Danish concept of HYGGE (pronounced hoo-guh).
When I was planning the details my aim was for whoever looked at the photographs to get an overwhelming sense of contentment and coziness. You know those “ahhh” moments when you have a sip of hot chocolate, put on a new pair of warm woolly socks, wrap yourself up tightly in a knitted nanny blanket or receive cuddles and kisses from someone you truly love…yeah all those feels!
Hygge is very much about embracing simplicity and authenticity. Ashridge Barn has been restored so beautifully with lots of wonderful original features being left exposed. The rustic decor and mixture of textures throughout the room add to its charm and worked so well with the shoots theme.
For the colour scheme I chose to use soft greys and pale pinks, which gave a lovely modern and contemporary feel as well as being feminine and romantic. Neutral tones were introduced to compliment the decor which was inspired by all the nature that the barn is nestled amongst.
Sue of Magenta Rose Designs created some stunning floral hoops, one large for decoration and another as an alternative to the traditional bouquet. She also provided a bouquet and table flowers, all of which she makes from up cycling fabric and faux foliage.
Ezziecakes created a wonderful three tier quirky knitted masterpiece. The stationery design was inspired by the contemporary style for which the Danes are renowned and the forest that surrounds the venue. Simple line drawings and non fussy fonts tied together with a mini hand knitted belly band gave the invitations the cozy factor.
If you like the way the Danish do things and want to embrace this style just think simple, think sharing food, wrapping up in blankets around a camp fire and toasting marshmallows whilst listening to your friends and loved ones laughing, telling story’s and making memories!
Thank you to Clare and all the team for sharing! x
