Deco inspired London wedding…
If you are planning a London wedding then you’ll gonna love this Art Deco inspired bridal shoot set at Stanley Halls – a Grade II listed Edwardian arts venue.
The impressive space with marble stairs, theatre seats and stunning jade tiles made the perfect backdrop for this modern bridal shoot. Over to Clara from Styled for Love to tell us more about the shoot and the suppliers involved…
Clara from Styled for Love…
Where did you get your inspiration from?
When photographer Cat Arwel asked me to collaborate on this shoot, she had already secured the unique London venue, and when I visited Stanley Halls I understood why she was so drawn to the location – the fabulous features such as marble stairs, theatre seating and beautiful jade tiles made for such an inspiring backdrop. I knew straight away that these elements would lend themselves to a Deco inspired concept, translated in a modern way for a stylish couple. The jade tiles were the start of the distinctive contemporary colour scheme and the introduction of polished metals, velvet and curved accents complemented the venue’s aesthetic.
How did you find the suppliers who made this concept come to life?
Some of the wonderful creative team behind the collaboration were existing industry contacts while other members were new connections made through Instagram. Cat and I approached suppliers who love working with fashion conscious couples, have an artistic, fun approach and who we could give creative freedom to, knowing they would understand our vision.
What details are your favourite, and why?
There are so many gorgeous elements within the shoot that it’s hard to choose a favourite. Individually they’re amazing but I just love how they all work together seamlessly. From the exquisite La Poesie sequinned silk gown and groom’s plush velvet jacket which sit together so beautifully they look like they were made for each other, to the awesome cake with marble and textured features designed Megan at Blossom and Crumb and the bespoke stationery suite created by Nikki at Knots and Kisses that brings in the colour palette and Deco style curves.
Do you have any styling tips for readers looking to emulate this shoot?
For couples who would like to use this concept as inspiration for their wedding design I would say think about how you could incorporate the colour scheme into your day – the table linen used in this shoot was a fabulous injection of colour. Then bring in touches of a Deco influence like gold flatware to enhance your table decor and trending velvet curved furniture is the perfect addition for a lounge area for your guests. However, think about what’s most important to you as a couple and be confident to do things your way. Everyone has an opinion but your celebration should be about you.
