Modern ’70’s Glam’ Wedding Inspiration…
Greenery has been a huge trend for 2017, but the team behind today’s inspiration shoot has taken it up a notch; putting a luxurious, 70’s inspired spin on the ever popular ‘jungle’ theme.
Mr & Mrs Unique supplier, Knots & Kisses, co-ordinated and styled the shoot, designed all of the stunning stationery, and brought a fab team of suppliers together. Over to her to tell us more…
Nikki from Knots & Kisses…
The inspiration for the shoot started with a love of teal and gold. I love the Jungle and Woodland themes but wanted to create something a bit more striking with a glam 70s feel, including leopard print. The bride for this shoot would not be a shrinking violet but a bit of a glamour girl who loves a bold print and a red lip.
After a visit to Paschoe house and seeing their gorgeous dining room wallpaper everything fell into place and a geometric feel was added to the look for the shoot.
My design concept was to create a wedding look that would work perfectly with a gorgeous hotel venue – something modern and yet inspired by the glamour of the 1970s and 1920s.
Lots of lush foliage was key to the look and I wanted to include lots of greenery and house plants as well as table foliage to give that opulent drawing room feel.
Cocktails were essential to both eras and so lounging in a peacock chair with a bar cart and champagne was a key look. We envisioned this bride having a very relaxed and glamourous wedding – late evening cocktails and bar trolleys and a dessert table with gold boxes of chocolates.
We also envisaged photos post wedding in the forest and woodland surrounding Paschoe House, the bouquet was to look just like it had been gathered from the jungle or forest floor. This wedding would be casual and yet decadent.
Paschoe was an amazing backdrop for the shoot with really striking spaces. This venue is also not a shrinking violet with patterned wallpapers in every room and bold use of prints and colour. Set amongst the Devon countryside and it’s rolling hills it still has an incredibly luxe and glamorous feel rather than your typical ‘country hotel’.
Beautiful! Thanks to Nikki and the whole team for sharing x

Hi,
Love the styling of this wedding, exactly what I’m after for my own wedding!
Would you be able to tell me where you sourced the gold hoop used in the seating plan please?
I’d be most grateful.
Thank you so much,
