Brighton Elopement with Sequins…
Ahhh lovely Brighton! Brighton always holds a special part of my heart after I got engaged on the pier 12 years ago. So when this cool, Brighton elopement shoot landing in my inbox I knew I had to feature it. Plus who doesn’t love a Rosa Bloom sequin jumpsuit – I know if I could do my wedding all over again this would defo be on my hit list! Over to Kate- Wedding Planner, Consultant and On-the-day Sidekick from Jump The Broom to tell us more…
Kate from Jump The Broom…
I dreamt up the concept for ‘About Last Night’ after spotting Rosa Bloom’s incredible sequin jumpsuits on Instagram; I knew immediately that they would be a hit with brides and grooms that really wanted to throw out the rulebook and the rest, they say, is history! I wanted this elopement to feel care-free and still totally original, it needed to be something a couple could literally throw together in a couple of months whilst still having a bold and beautiful style at its heart.
I’d met Chloe Mary earlier in the year and couldn’t imagine anybody else shooting with such a candid, sexy and edgy style; similarly, I knew that the vibrant and untamed blooms of Jane from Dove and Myrtle, as well as the forever-original and gorgeous creations of Tiny Sarah’s Cakes were a perfect fit. Some of my favourite details were the bespoke ‘Just Us’ balloons from Peach Blossom and those show-stopping crowns from Lucky Sixpence; in all honesty though, I was (and still am) in love with everything involved.
If you’re looking at this shoot thinking ‘this is my future wedding!’ and aren’t sure where to start then I’d say begin with choosing a bold and vibrant colour palette; I opted for bright pinks and oranges contrasted with some deep and moody greens to give it that awesome club-land vibe, and from there it was really about finding suppliers that weren’t afraid of having their creative talents explored and unleashed!
‘About Last Night’ was created with a couple in love at the very centre; it isn’t about enormous budgets, intimidating guest lists and conformist traditions, instead it sets out to prove that as long as it’s about the two of you (and the odd handful of glitter, of course), it will become what a wedding should always be: A damn good party.
