Vibrant Moroccan Wedding Inspiration with Bohemian Vibes…

I don’t know about you but I need a burst of brightness, an injection of colourful joy and this shoot provides just that. Capturing the vibe of Morocco exquisitely, each supplier brought their A-game with an array of handmade and bespoke pieces which came together for an overall look that was carefully curated and perfectly on point.

Where did you get your inspiration from?

I decided to put together this Moroccan inspired wedding shoot after being inspired by the rich and vibrant colours of a recent trip to Morocco. I love colour, the more the better! I wanted to put something together to show brides and grooms to be that they can be inspired by anything and any place for their wedding, and to have fun and be creative with it!

How did you find the suppliers who made this concept come to life?

I chose some amazing suppliers to help put my vision together and I was blown away with what was created, it exceeded expectations. I mostly contacted suppliers who I have been following on Instagram, loved their work and wanted to connect! We used the Tap Room at Missing Link Brewery in West Sussex as the venue, and I deliberately chose local suppliers from the South East to bring the look together. Emma from Styled by Sissy and Nichola from GroveFlora set the scene with stunning Moroccan props and amazing vibrant flowers everywhere you looked (including hanging from the ceiling!). You wouldn’t have known it was one of the wettest days of the year outside!

What details are your favourite, and why?

That is such a hard question to answer as it was all so beautiful! We created a few different looks for maximum inspiration. The first was a relaxed lounge style, with Moroccan rugs, chaise lounge & peacock chair with bright accessories. We had Moroccan mint tea and incense sticks for full authenticity. The next look was a bohemian style feast. With a floor palette table and scatter cushions for seats. The beautiful abstract cake was made by Dina from Cakes and Leaves who only uses organic ingredients and colour dyes to make her work as environmentally friendly as possible. The mouth-watering dinner feast was provided by Becky from The Garden Chef. All of the food was inspired by Morocco and served in beautiful Moroccan dishes. The final look was a more “classic” tablescape. Adorned with coloured candles, intricate details, stunning textiles by Mia Sylvia and vibrant stationary made for the photoshoot by Emily from Letters from Emily. And of course, more stunning flowers!

The bride’s dresses were made especially for the shoot by Louise from Louise Rose Couture. The main gown was a beautiful floor-length dress with draped sleeves and completely covered in gold glitter (which was amaaaaaazing!!). Ritz and Sass made an incredible headpiece to complete the main bridal look. Dapper and Suave provided the grooms suits and unique accessories to add colour and fun to mix up a classic look. Samantha Melanie Hair & Make up created the brides looks, adding pops of colour to give a slight twist on a “classic” bridal look. The brilliant models, Samantha, Trudy & Olly looked breath-taking in their tailored looks.

The whole shoot was stunning and I came home wanting to totally redecorate my house and cover all my clothes in glitter!!

Do you have any styling tips for readers looking to emulate this shoot?

Have a look at National Geographic, interiors magazines and Pinterest to find images of the Souks in Marrakech. Emma (Styled by Sissy) tried to emulate a busy, bustling, vibrant abundant souk, where the air is thick with the aroma of spices. We also took inspiration from Riads and hotels such as the stunning El Fenn in Marrakesh, the interiors there use blocks of jewel colours, silver, gold and aluminium and foliage to accent the colour. We didn’t want it to look too formal so used a mixture of very few new items and lots of vintage. The use of naturally dyed linens by Mia Sylvia helped to create that feeling of being in a Souk. Emma’s stylist advice would be to not be too matchy matchy, pick a few accent colours to highlight and have fun with it!

What is it that makes your shoot unique?

Basing a photoshoot on a specific special place is not something I have seen much before. Especially one as colourful as this! I see a lot of beautiful weddings, but I love how personal this wedding photoshoot is, and it shows that the meaning or inspiration behind how couples style their wedding can come from anywhere or anything. And in my mind, you can never have too much or go too far! This photoshoot includes flowers suspended from the ceiling, intricate Moroccan details, stunning textures and vibrant colours, specially made bridal gowns, glitter galore, organic cake and mouth-watering food you can almost taste through the photos alone!

What’s the most important tip you have for couples planning their wedding?

Whatever idea is brewing in your heads can become a stunning reality! “WOW factor” doesn’t need to cost crazy money or require plane tickets, we turned a brewery into a Moroccan dream – whatever you have in your head is achievable so GO FOR IT! This photoshoot also proves that you don’t need a sunny or dry day to create something special (it was one of the wettest days of the year so far…).
