Autumn Wedding Inspiration…
Get ready to fill your boots with some gorgeous Autumn Wedding inspiration featuring not one but two of our favourite Mr & Mrs Unique suppliers – the lovely Binky Nixon and the awesome team at Country Tipis.
I love the fusion of Autumnal colours, the luxe Bohemian vibes and the African inspired styling details. Over to styling Queen Gemma at The White Emporium to tell us more…
Gemma from The White Emporium…
Where did you get your inspiration from?
I love a traditional pole marquee such as the Celeste, they conjure up images of lazy days, relaxed parties and a bohemian style of living. The mixing of textures is always fundamental to my styling and I really wanted to include elements from the emerging fashion trends of African hints and the velvet textures inspiring visions of the 70’s. I wanted to keep an air of grandeur to the shoot so the vibe was Haute Boheme, free spirited and reminiscent of an unconventional lifestyle.
Bold prints were mixed with Autumnal colours of British grown blooms from Flowers at 58, coloured glasses and matte rose gold cutlery completed the tablescape. The peachy toned candles popped against the red and pink tones of the florals whilst the fabric swags helped add a sense of intimacy to the expansive marquee.
Africa inspires images of rolling planes full of dried, sun kissed grasses so we created a wow installation from bunches of dried flowers and grasses and pendant drop lighting from Pink Lamp.
How did you find the suppliers who made this concept come to life?
I handpicked suppliers who we’ve either worked closely with before or who came highly recommended to us. This created a melting pot of ideas that the range of creative suppliers brought to the table, allowing us to really create something memorable.
What details are your favourite, and why?
I love the rustic ladder running between the legs of the Celeste tastefully adorned with dried flowers, grasses and pendant lighting.

Notes from suppliers…
Stationery from White Cottage Weddings: We worked very closely with Gemma from the White Emporium in her vision of creating a ‘Haute Boheme’ African elopement style, with a 1970’s feel. We used different layers and materials through the invitation suite which allowed us to create a textured, earthy suite with a hint of flamboyance and a rich, Autumnal colour palette. The ceremony featured a wooden pole structure with a printed flag, decorated effortlessly in trailing foliage; the perfect backdrop to an elopement
Flowers at 58: Using British grown seasonal flowers from our farm meant we could match the colour scheme perfectly. We collected a variety of dried flowers & seed heads from the meadow, which looked amazing in the mood lighting Gemma envisioned. The deep pinks & corals of the wild bouquet complimented the golden tones of the sundries too which really set off the mustard coloured drapes behind the hanging installation & the warm colourful table scape
Lisa Lyons Bridal: Inspiration came from the location, floral elements and colour palette. Separates are still on trend for bridalwear, so we used both made to measure and bespoke pieces. Lisa paired a floaty, silk georgette skirt with a fitted, crochet lace top. The lace had a geometric design that gave it vintage feel but the silk satin band and bow kept a modern vibe. The dress complemented the delicate florals perfectly.
